I did most of my work in a production context with tight deadlines so I know how to handle projects in a cost-effective way.
You will find some Personal Historians having very reasonable prices in their fields but it is also said that a memories related project can cost about as much as remodeling your kitchen or buying a new car. However, it is possible to work with a defined budget and still produce high quality work.
Working on our own memories is particularly painful and very hard to achieve. Our documents and photos are unique and have incommensurable value, for ourselves (... only). So, they cannot be put in anyone's hands or sent to someone we don't trust. The first requirements of this work are confidence and professionalism.
